We continue to work on the old Scout Hut in preparing it for the new expansion of the St. Johns CDC. The building had to be treated for termites, floors in all the rooms had to be replaced with new tile, a new heat pump and enlarged duct work had to be installed and the complete interior of the building was repainted. This will provide a fresh and bright facility for the young CDC members.
The heat pump on the fourth and third floors of the Education building succumbed to the intense heat of the summer this year. The third floor unit was repaired and hopefully will provide us with several additional years of service. The fourth floor unit was restarted but is living on its last leg of life. This unit will have to be replaced this fall.
Notice the new floors in the Parlor Restrooms. The old floors were faded and stained from years of use.
The beautiful trees in front of the Clothes Closet took a beating this summer. One of the trees was blown down by the high winds and the second tree will have to be removed later this month.
We are in the process of replacing and upgrading the roof on the Gym. This roof has lasted many years past its life and the new roof will hopefully provide us with a dry and safe building for many years to come.
Due to the theft of copper in our area we have had to install heat pump cages over the outside ground level heat pumps for the church sanctuary.
We wish to thank you for your continued support for the church and for the new Second Century Campaign in which we will provide our members with a beautiful campus in which to visit and worship.
